TACA 14th International Children’s Day/ 23 Nisan Ulusal Egemenlik ve Cocuk Bayrami
The 14th International Children’s Day event will take place at the Ranch View Elementary school in Naperville on Sunday, April 26th 2015. This event is supported by the City of Naperville and organized by the volunteers of the Turkish American Cultural Alliance Organization.
In Turkey, Children’s Day originated from the first gathering of Grand National Assembly on April 23, 1920. ATATURK, the founder of modern Turkey, gifted April 23rd to the children of the country, so that they would cherish their independence. This year marks the 95th celebration of this day. TACA has been bringing this celebration to the Chicago area to share the International Children’s Day with children of all backgrounds so that they all learn to appreciate different cultures and get to experience a joyous event with others, showcase their talents, and make new friends.
The International Children’s Day event will be filled with fun, a parade of nations, performances in traditional costumes, exhibits, face painting, festivities, magician show, activities, gifts, and many more surprises.
